Snow Day!!!

Here are a few photos from our first official snow day this year. The past "snow days" have been ice (or even rain one day!). Even though we only have 2 inches, the boys had a great time playing this morning (it's supposed to turn into a freezing rain/ice storm later).

Kendyl didn't seem to mind the cold weather at all, as long as she didn't touch the snow.

Ice Day!!!

All hanging out in our room. Steven is great playing with Kendyl.

I took these pictures last week when school was closed for ice, and daycare was closed due to a water issue. Too cute not to share!

Kendyl has the best laugh and smile. So adorable.
She loves sitting up soooooooo much. When you lay her down, she tries sitting up. So I tried sitting her high chair up with some toys - it was great fun- at least for a few minutes. She is a needy little girl lately. Loves being held and doesn't like to sleep during the day. Thankfully she sleeps at night!

Then Into Manhattan!

After our tour of Yankee Stadium, we headed into Manhattan. Here are a few pictures from our fabulously fun afternoon.

First we stopped a Dylan's Candy Bar. Fun place with 2 floors of candy, candy, candy. Then we went to Mars 2112 for lunch (see alien above). Very unique place as you had to take a ride to get there! You hopped in a spaceship for a 5 minute flight (simulator) and when you stepped out on the other side it looked as if you were in Mars. The walls, floors and ceilings were brownish rock with red lights and aliens walking around. Great atmosphere, but food was not that good.

Then we went to see and hold the Oscars! They were on display and you were able to hold one. Very cool experience.
Then off to the M&M's store. We stopped to take this picture and lost the Quinty's as they kept walking. Hey - there they are!!!! Already at the store. Andrew got the hang of the city really fast and figured where it would be quicker to cross, and dodge in and out of people.

The Big Surprise!

A TOUR OF YANKEE STADIUM!!!
Our wonderful friends - The Quintys - invited Andrew to join them to go on a tour of Yankee Stadium. I couldn't miss his excitement, so they kindly let me tag along. We decided to keep the destination a surprise, and I didn't tell Andrew we were going with anyone, where we were going, or what we were doing. His reaction was one to remember! They figured out NY pretty quickly, but when Andrew saw a sign we were in the Bronx, he says "hey, Yankee Stadium is in the Bronx" I played dumb that I didn't know it was there and said "let's look for it, maybe Mr. Quinty can drive by so we can see it" as soon as we found it, Mrs. Quinty showed Andrew the tickets she bought and told him about the tour. His jaw just dropped and his eyes got really wide. He was amazed! As soon as we got out of the car he started jumping around and called Tim to share his excitement. We had to wait a bit for the store to open, then the tour and Andrew jumped, glided all the way there. Joe was happy, but not as excited as Andrew - it was a moment to remember.

Our tour started in the press box. Wow! What a view from there. It is spectacular. Our tour guide was amazing with the facts and details he provided and Andrew hung on every word. Then we went to the locker room. Wow! We were not allowed to take pictures in there (weird!) but learned a lot of great facts and saw Jeter's locker area.

Then down to the field, and to Memorial Park. Facts and pictures about some of the greatest baseball players ever. Then onto the dugout. It was simply amazing to be standing and sitting where some of the legends have been.

This tour was extra special as it is the last year for the originial Yankee Stadium - The House that Ruth Built and Andrew took all of it in with the excitment and passion he has.

Thank you, Marianne, Bob and Joe for suggesting and taking us on this special tour. We will never forget it!

Big Day Tomorrow!

I am taking Andrew on a super secret special surprise day trip - just the two of us. Ok, we are meeting someone else (but he doesn't know). I can't wait to see his reaction when we get there - it will be priceless.

We will probably be home late, so I'll post pictures, and details, early in the week.

Sculptures

One afternoon the boys created these! I had a conference call (boys had off from school) and needed them to be quiet. As it was getting to the end of the day, it was a bit more difficult. Their job was to make a sculpture from the marshmallows and pretzels and I would award a prize to the winner.

As they were both fabulous (and quiet), I gave them both some candy and let them watch TV.

Our Little Valentine!

Too cute - just had to share.

Finally Back to Posting!

January brought about computer problems and it has taken some time to load the necessary software back on to upload the pictures from the camera. Here are some photos from the past few weeks.

Happy 4 Month Birthday!

We took Kendyl's monthly picture with Forky. I can't believe she is 4 months old already. She has such a great personality! She was all dressed up to go to a birthday party - so adorable.

Office Visit

School was cancelled due to ice (roads were fine) and I needed to go into the office, so the boys came with me (Kendyl went to school). Andrew made himself at home at Kelly's desk (we share an office and she was working from home) with our home laptop as he wanted to write a story and an article for cub scouts.
The boys had fun with her whiteboard, and left some new artwork for the office.
They spent some time watching a movie (and clowning around).Steven had fun with his playmobile guys on my desk.

The boys also helped me mail some packages, and enjoyed making hot chocolate
and lemon tea in the kitchen.

Big Girl!

Kendyl loves playing with her toys! She now loves the excersaucer, her links, blocks and a monkey. She also LOVES playing with Steven. Her laugh and smile are the best!

Kendyl loves her babyfood. She started eating about a week ago, and has already mastered eating from a spoon and eats 2 tablespoons of cereal with a jar of babyfood (pears, sweetpotatoes and sometime prunes). Then she still needs a 6 oz. bottle.

Way to go Andrew!

Not the best photos, but.... Andrew has had an amazing diving season (his 3rd). Out of four competitions he came in 7th, 3rd, 4th and 6th. He competed with 9-10 other boys ages 9 and 10 each time. The interesting thing about diving is you really need to compete against both your competition AND yourself. Many of these kids have more practice time then our team (diving wells, have been competing longer, and some dive on more than one team). The important thing is Andrew kept improving his scores each week and he won a medal at championships for 6th place with fantastic scores.
