A Walk in the Woods

Today we went to Warwick Park for a little fun. We enjoyed the playground, then took a walk on the trails.

Kendyl wasn't so sure of the backpack at first, but at the end, was really relaxed and enjoying herself. Time to get geocaching again!

The boys with a family friend who came along.

Steven is becoming quite the photographer.

Kendyl Made Brownies!

Kendyl and I were making brownies, and I turned around to put the pan in the oven, this is what I saw when I turned back around!

Brownie dripping everywhere, but she was having a blast. So what's a Mom to do, but get out the camera of course and join in the fun!
Yummmmmm!

Memorial Day Weekend

Andrew went on his first backpacking camping trip. Here he is right before he left. He has everything in his backpack except the tent and food (leader has that). We just picked him up. They were gone for 2 nights and ended up hiking a total of 10 miles. Andrew did well and enjoyed the adventure, but not the leadership. Turns out he is an excellent campfire chef and everyone was raving about his BBQ chicken. Guess what he is making tomorrow?!?!?
While Andrew was away, Kendyl and Steven had fun with K's new pool!

Yes, she was drinking the water. I am trying to teach her not to!

She had a blast, and so did Steven. The giggles....to cute.

Carnival (5/8)

We met the Quinty's and too Kendyl to her first carnival! Despite the photo (thanks Marianne!) she did enjoy the slide, but mostly she enjoyed just looking around, and dancing to the music. She was dancing in her stroller as she heard the music from each ride, too cute! She loved the maze/fun house that she did with Tim and all the boys.

Here are the boys on their favorite ride. They went on twice, and actually got Steven to try it! He loved it.

Tim and Kendyl left early (K was tired) but the rest of us stayed for quite awhile. The boys enjoyed lots of rides, a few games (Steven won a monkey he named Funnel Cake) and of course some carnival food. Steven had funnel cake, and Andrew....a pretzel of course!
Great night with our good friends.

Happy Mother's Day!

Hope everyone had as nice of a Mother's Day as I did. I was able to sleep in, treated to a wonderful breakfast, then they gave me this beautiful necklace!
Later we ran some quick errands together, stopped at a park (no one else was there!) to play...so much fun, then home to play Yahtzee while Kendyl didn't nap.

Andrew set this beautiful table (the pottery in the center is a handmade lighthouse from Andrew that a candle goes inside). The flowers were from Kendyl. Tim made a fabulous surf and turf dinner with my favorite crab cakes...yumm!

Happy Mother's Day to My Mom! (5/9)

The kids and I took Mom to the Philadelphia Zoo the day before Mother's Day to honor and celebrate the holiday with her. It was a great day, and nice to spend time together.
Happy Mother's Day Mom - you are the greatest and have taught me so much!
Andrew took this picture of the peacocks. He was strutting his stuff right next to us the entire time we were eating our picnic lunch (I don't think she was in the mood though :-)

Steven was having fun with a boa.

Everyone like the alligator snapping turtle. He was HUGE and quite entertaining to watch.

The zoo balloon wasn't flying AGAIN, so we rode the swan boats. Hopefully sometime this year we will get to go on it! Andrew and Mom went in one boat.....

Steven, Kendyl and I went in another. Kendyl did well for the first lap around the island, but started to cry into our 2nd lap, took her shoes off and even stood up. The lifejackets made it pretty hot, I think that was the problem.

Our picnic lunch next to the peacock. Oh, and the geese! OMG! They kept attacking us from every angle to get food, they were horrible. Thankfully the boys thought it was fun (for a little while anyway) to chase them away. So annoying!

Kendyl having fun in the Treehouse.

Mom took Kendyl on the draft horse named Sam. She cried at first, but calmed down quickly and enjoyed the ride. They boys also went on Sam.

Mom and her grandbabies.

Kendyl was getting quite tired by this point, but grandmom to the rescue with her sunglasses and silly faces. We were waiting for the boys, they wanted to ride the camel.

Here they are!

Kendyl will NOT fall asleep in her stroller for anything (none of my kids ever did/will), but the car, no problem. She slept most of the way home.
Happy Mother's Day!

Compliments

Last week the boys went with Tim to work for "Take Your Child to Work Day". He works at an Upscale Independent Living Facility and they had a day planned out for the kids including tours, make your own pizza for lunch, art class or TV studio, Wii tournament/spa treatment/bacci ball, etc. Yeah, not much work going on. They spent some time with their parents, but mostly the residents gave them the tours/classes.

Andrew loved the TV studio. He got to work the camera while a resident interviewed some of the other kids. It was aired lived on their internal network. Steven won the Wii bowling tournament with 7 strikes in a row!!!

They were so tired from all of the walking, they were in bed by 8:15...and asleep. Way early for Andrew.

Yesterday one of the residents (the head of the residents organization) stopped Tim in the hall to tell him that our boys are the most well behaved, well mannered children she has ever seen (better than her own grand-children). They held the doors for everyone, said yes Sir and no Sir, please and thank you, shook hands, etc. She doesn't know what we are doing, but keep it up! Wow...so nice to hear.

Glad she doesn't see us at homework time!
