USS New Jersey

The boys went to sleep on the USS New Jersey this past weekend as part of a Cub Scout event. Each year Tim plans the sleepover and this is the favorite, so they have been doing it every 2-3 years. This is Andrew's 3rd time and Steven's 2nd. They love it!
Here are the racks (aka beds) they slept on. This is why I do not go. The tour would be fun, but there is no way in hell I could sleep in that shoebox for 3.

Here's Steven smiling before bed. Gives me the willies looking at him. Oh, it was hot too...no air flow. Lovely.

Andrew does not have on a matching Pack 100 shirt (which Tim designed), as he is no longer in the Pack. He is a Boy Scout (sniff, sniff). He is along on the trip as a big brother. Steven took this great picture!
Kendyl and I had a great girls night. After her nap we went to the playground, then to the outlets and we both got some new clothes. Then we stopped over to see Mom and Pete for awhile and stayed for dinner. It was late, but Kendyl was good. She fell asleep before we even left the driveway! In the morning we went to another park for a long walk and more playground time. Fun, fun!

Just Hanging Around

Kendyl is really into playing with her "babies" now.
Teaching her baby to cook.

Andrew made himself a hammock using our rope swing, our tire swing, and and extra rope. He is destined to build something great someday.

Best buds!

Cub Scout Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter Bunnies "hid" a few just for Kendyl.
Look at the loot. Hmmm could be because these are 2 of the Easter Bunnies.

Steven found a prize egg!

She knew eggsactly what to do!

Her favorite thing is to run back and forth over the bridge!
The scout egg hunt was another huge success. Over 1000 eggs were stuffed and hidden, and 11 prizes awarded. Fun for cubs and siblings alike.

Farm Fun

This morning we went to a local farm to show Kendyl the animal. She loved the animals....especially the birds (owl, eagle, crow, turkeys, etc.). Funny girl.
She makes a cute heehaw sound for the donkey.

Here's Solomon the owl. He would talk to us, it was funny. We found pictures of him in the educational center from 1972!

Kendyl loved running up and down the ramp.

Andrew is in the Majors

Andrew is in the Majors this year. First game at 7:15 pm on a cold and windy night. Since it's Kendyl's bedtime, only Tim went to the first game. Boy...he is handsome. He has a baseball player build, that's for sure.
Andrew was walked to first, stole 2nd, ran to 3rd and contiued home. Made the only run for the team that night!
Sadly they lost, but....it's only the first game. Here come the Pirates!

Kendyl is 18 months old!

She did not want to sit for this photo shoot! But darn, she is cute anyway!

Yes, we resorted to bribery to get a few decent photos.....chocolate (aka "happy").

Happy 9th Birthday Steven!

Steven turned 9 this week! Wow! He has been celebrating all weekend. It started with receiving a gift in the mail from his Uncle, Aunt and Cousins in North Carolina on Thursday...and we let him open it. Friday, he celebrated with is class with soft pretzels (including one shaped as a 9) and drinks.
Friday night he had 7 friends over for a sleepover (5 stayed the night, 2 had to leave before bedtime). It was a Wii themed party where they spent the night playing the Wii, air hockey, foose ball, cards and lazer tag. Everyone had a good time, and they were really good....we even got some sleep!
Saturday was his actual birthday and after everyone went home, we had a nice lunch, gifts from the family, and another cake!!! He picked his special dinner...tacos, then right after dinner Tim and Andrew had to leave for Andrew's first baseball game (Kendyl's bedtime) and Steven and I settled in for a movie.

Here's Steven's annual picture with Tigger. I'll have to dig out the ones from when he was younger to compare.
